If you are someone who adds charm to every dress you wear, this is the right type of modeling for you. Runway models are hired to promote outfits through fashion shows. Through the shows the models are required to portray that the outfit they are wearing is the best one and extremely to carry off. The models need an elegant charm to make even the dullest dress look pretty.

Runway modeling is one of the most glamorous types of modeling and gives a lot of exposure to the model. The height requirement for a runway model is 5’9”. These models require a lot of confidence and grace. The pay may range anywhere in between $500 to $5000 per show. Runway models are also called catwalk models.

Comercial Print Modeling

Commercial print modeling falls into the category of Fashion Advertising and Product Advertising.  Commercial print models are hired to promote various products through photographs which are displayed on bill boards, buses, magazines and newspapers.

These models do not require any specific height or size. Neither does this modeling require a person to be too beautiful or glamorous. All that is needed here is to look like a common person. You must be able to adapt to various roles like a doctor, business person, plumber, student, mom, dad, grandparent etc. You cannot expect a high pay here. The pay may be just enough to make a living or sometimes even less.

Print and Catalog Modeling

Print and Catalog modeling would be the best way to get exposure. In this area of modeling you need to advertise to sell everyday products through photographs posing for different magazines. This is a hectic job and requires long working hours. The pay can range between $10,000 to $15,000 per day for top models and $100 to $150 for those new to modeling.

The height requirement for print and catalog female models is 5’8’ and size is required to be 6. These models require a clear complexion. The male catalog models are usually 6’ tall and have well fittings with a 40 regular sport coat. The average age for catalog models is 29.

Children and Teen Models

Modeling is not just limited to youngsters or adults. Children and teenagers can have a bright start too. They are called junior models. Various products related to children and youngsters require junior models in their advertisements. There are even many fashion shows conducted for them.

To become a junior model, all that one requires is 5’ 6” to 5’ 6” height, 32” to 34” busts, 21” to 25” waists and 32” to 34” hips. Needless to say, one must have extraordinary talent to excel in this field. Junior models are usually in the age group 12 to 17 years.

High Fashion Models

High fashion models are highly paid but not as much as supermodels. They are famous too and compete with the supermodels. You may find these High Fashion models almost everywhere.

Television advertisements are sure to feature high fashion models. From clothing to household equipments, everything is promoted by fashion models. Fashion designers display their dresses through these fashion models. They even pose on most magazine covers.  Fashion Magazines like Vogue, W and Elle have high fashion models featured.

There are certain requirements to become a high fashion model. As most of these models promote different products either through television advertisements or through different advertisements, these models require a perfect figure. A height of 5’9” to 6’, 32” to 35” busts, 22” to 25” waists and 33” to 36” hips is most preferable for female models, while male models generally have a height of 6’ to 6’2” and wear 40 sized jacket.  High fashion models require immense talent. They must be able to show different emotions through facial and body expressions suitable to the product they promote.
